Can My Dog get Bored?
Like humans, dogs also get bored. In their case, it’s often worse, because unlike humans, they do not have the option of changing their work or study routine, or leave their apartment for a stroll around the block.
Consequently, many dogs begin to have display unwanted behaviors as a result of their boredom. Thus, it is not uncommon to see them rolling in your sheets, as if they were digging in a garden, sleeping long hours, getting into your garbage or kitchen pantry, or barking excessively.
One solution would be to hire a dog walker. There are many pet care companies that offer this service for busy owners who need their dogs walked while they are at work. This can help your dog from excessive boredom.
If you do not have this possibility, consider leaving your dog occupied whenever you leave. Interactive chew toys are a great way to keep your dog busy and tire him out. For highly active dog, consider leaving a scavenger hunt by hiding toys and treats throughout your home before leaving.
Remember: A Tired Dog is a Good Dog!
