How Often Should I Feed My Dog?
Dogs over 6 months old should be fed twice a day. It is important to never leave out your dog’s food during the entire day. A dog will be more motivated to obey you if she realizes that you control her meal times. You can make mealtime a very fun and interactive activity by doing some training exercises and having your dog actually earn her meal.
If you don’t have time for training, putting her meal in a kong or busy buddy toy will be much more rewarding for her than simply feeding her from a bowl.
If your dog is under 6 months old, consult your vet or breeder about feeding. Normally, a puppy under 6 months should be fed three times a day.
