Benefits of Taking your Dog for a Walk

Benefits of Taking your Dog for a Walk

If you have a pet dog, you should take him out at least three times a day. This is to ensure that your dog gets plenty of exercise and is able to relief himself throughout the day.

If a dog is forced to hold his urine for too long, health issues such as cystitis can arise.

Cystitis is a urinary retention, which can lead to kidney or urinary infections.

Many owners claim their dog can hold their bladder an average of 8 hours, but this is never recommended. If you cannot be home to walk your dog, it is advised to hire a dog walking service that can be there to let your dog out for a bathroom break and some extra exercise.

Another alternative is to designate a certain area of the home where your pet is allowed to relief himself. This area should have a wee-wee pad, newspapers or an artificial grass patch. Owners should know that when taking their dogs to new locations, the indoor potty training may regress.
